A Call to Restore Honor in America
Today, we celebrate the 47th Anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s famous "I Have A Dream" speech.
Martin Luther King, Jr. was a man of God and was willing to give all despite the ridicule and torture. He was like the many men and women in uniform who faced and continue to face "the slings and arrows" of our world. He was tortured and thrown in jail. But, he never gave up because he loved America.
Today, many seem to forget that. But, I am optimistic that those who came from across America and tuned in to their televisions and computers to see the Restoring Honor Rally, heard, through Glenn Beck and other speakers, the call from God to have courage and believe in what our Founding Fathers and patriots believed: Faith, Hope and Charity.
As I think about the words of the speakers and vocalists in this rally I can't help but think of a video that I continuously watch on YouTube:

9/11 - We Remember
Yesterday, via Twitter, Sarah Palin asked us to watch the following video on YouTube:
The people in this video not only speak for those who died on 9/11, but they speak for the majority of Americans, including me, who say they don't want a painful reminder of that tragic day near Ground Zero, or any other area hit by the Islamic terrorists.
I certainly remember the 9/11 Tragedy. Even when I'm 50 years old, I will never forget the day, hour or minute when the first plane crashed into the World Trade Center. On September 11, 2001 at 8:45 am, I was ten years old, in fourth grade and just about to leave for school. The day was relatively normal for me at school; didn't notice or suspect anything until my parents gave me the news of the attack that night.
At first I was in denial and didn't understan what my parents were telling me. Then they turned on the news. Almost immediately, I was smacked with images of fire, smoke and piles of what used to be the World Trade Center. Then I saw footage of the planes crashing through the Twin Towers. That's when I understood - this was no horror movie - This was REAL.
In the years since that day, I have continued to see footage of what is now known as Ground Zero. But, the unfortunate thing to me, was I didn't always take this tragedy seriously until I saw the footage and when the mosque was proposed. Honestly, I don't think I've thought more of 9/11 between 7th Grade and the day Fox News reported the proposed mosque.
I believe I speak for the majority of America when I say, "Yes, a mosque is okay, but build it farther away from Ground Zero." The 9/11 Tragedy was and is and will remain an act of Muslims who felt it was their duty and a call from Allah to attack and destroy America. This particular mosque, like I've said, is a painful reminder of that hateful act.
So, a shout-out to anyone who supports this mosque: it's ok to practice a religion peacefully. But if you're going to practice Islam, do it in one of the other mosques and/or build this mosque far away from Ground Zero so that we don't have a constant reminder of 9/11!

Sarah Palin on Hannity
Last night, Sarah Palin appeared on Hannity:
Seriously, I feel that Sarah has nailed the issues once again.
When I was listening to Sean list all the trips that the Obamas have taken, I couldn't help but think, "That's more vacation time than I've taken in elementary school!" Plus, all this vacation time in a time like this as Sarah pointed out with the challenges we're facing right now. Why can't the Obamas, as Sarah has also suggested, cut back on the vacation time or actually feel pain that We the People are feeling? I have no problem with that because while the Obamas are taking their vacations, 9.5% of the American people are trying to find jobs. If you ask me, it sounds like Obama believes that elected officials aren't allowed to connect with the everyday American. If that's what he thinks it should be, then I don't know the Federal Government.
As for the mosque near Ground Zero, if I had to choose between A, "go for it," or F, "No way," I wouldn't just say "No," I would say "H-e-l-l No!" A mosque is ok, America is about religious tolerance. However, the location of the mosque should be farther away from Ground Zero. A mosque near Ground Zero truly is a painful reminder of the 9/11 Trajedy. I will never forget when my dad came home and told me the news. I was ten years old the day of this terrorist attack. The last thing I would want is a painful reminder of what happened and the fear I felt when I heard the news. The only reminder I would want is the memorial being proposed for Ground Zero that commemorates those who sacrificed all to help people in the World Trade Center - not a nearby building that symbolizes the religion that the 9/11 hijackers believe in.

Sarah Palin on 'FNS'
On August 1, Sarah Palin appeared on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace and addressed the various issues at hand including the ruling on the Arizona Immigration Law, the Bush tax-cuts and the midterm elections.
This was Rush Limbaugh's response to Sarah's use of the word "cojones" :
If anyone's wondering what "cojones" means, I can answer that question. It's a Spanish word that means "guts" and "courage." When Sarah used that word, I knew right away what it meant. I took Spanish in middle school and my first three years in high school. I first learned the word "cojones" in my junior year when my Spanish teacher asked me to describe Sarah in one word (and in Spanish of course). After looking up "courage" in my Spanish-English Dictionary, there was only one Spanish word for courage: "cojones." In my opinion, that was and is and will be the perfect word to describe Sarah and other people like her (including Jan Brewer).
As for the Bush tax-cuts, I think Sarah is right on.
Last night my dad and I were discussing how many of the bureacrats don't want to extend the Bush tax-cuts. Seriously guys, you have got to go back to your American History classes, because history has proven that when you get the government out of the way - including cutting taxes, the private sector can grow and thrive because more jobs are created. That was proven especially during the Reagan Era. Plus, it's very hypocritical because while the pockets of The People are being emptied by the taxes, the bureacrats are getting most of our tax dollars for themselves. That sounds like tyranny.
My dad also touched on a point that Rush Limbaugh made last week about the cost of electric cars and the bureacrats wanting to have those making $250,000 pay more in taxes. Rush had pointed out that electric cars can run as much as $41,000 or more. The ones who can afford these cars are the ones making at least $250K and they are given government subsidies when they purchase them. So in a way, if the Bush tax-cuts weren't extended, the "rich" would be paying probably half their income to the Feds and get a little back as a result of purchasing electric cars.

Sarah Palin: Kelly Ayotte for New Hampshire

Todd, Willow, and I are headed out to Kodiak and Afognak to meet with logging families on the forested islands. As we work and sightsee on America’s largest island we’ll get to view more majestic bears, so now is a good time to draw attention to the political equivalent of the species.
It’s my honor to endorse a Granite State “mama grizzly” who has broken barriers, fought off and locked up criminals, and battled all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court to protect the rights of New Hampshire parents – and won!
New Hampshire is lucky to have Kelly Ayotte as a candidate for the U.S. Senate this year. Kelly is a daughter of the Granite State, a product of its public schools, and its first female Attorney General. In her impressive five years in the AG’s office, Kelly earned a reputation for being tough on crime, supportive of law enforcement, and tireless in the defense of the rights of the people of New Hampshire. When Planned Parenthood challenged New Hampshire’s parental notification law, Kelly fought them all the way to the Supreme Court and won.
She’s the proud mother of two and the wife of a combat veteran who flew missions over Iraq and currently serves in the Air National Guard. Kelly and her husband started a small landscaping/snow removal business; so, she understands first hand the crushing burden Washington imposes on our small businesses. This pro-life, pro-family, anti-tax constitutional commonsense conservative is the Democrats’ biggest fear in November. They’re already running false ads against her weeks before even the primary election. And on top of that Kelly is facing attacks from a self-funded millionaire running with an R next to his name who likes Obamacare and cap-and-tax.
Kelly is the strongest commonsense conservative who can win in the fall. I knew I liked her when I met her earlier this year, and I know this Granite Grizzly will represent New Hampshire with distinction in Washington.

An endorsement’s impact may be fickle and, as I warn the endorsed candidates, is oftentimes a double-edged sword. So I admire the boldness of Bob McConnell and Paul Gosar for accepting my support in their races for Congress! These two patriots are Commonsense Constitutional Conservatives who seek to limit government, protect our 2nd Amendment rights, respect the sanctity of life, support our strong military, and encourage free enterprise. Their work for these commonly held beliefs will help unite this exceptional nation.
Bob McConnell is considered a grassroots underdog candidate running a dynamic, prudent campaign to represent Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District.
