Today when my family went to Church, our Senior Pastor spoke of how God treats those who are considered outcasts.
In Luke 2:8-20, An angel of the Lord appeared to the shepherds, extending an invitation to see His greatest gift to the world: His son Jesus the Messiah.
In those days, people such as the shepherds, tax collectors and sinners were considered outcasts in society because they did not follow the rules of Jewish Law. Many thought of them as liars and thieves and avoided them as a result.
God isn't like that though. By having one of His messengers appear to those shepherds, He is showing mercy towards them and allowing them to share in His gift.
This world is full of outcasts. In one form or another, we are all outcasts. We have all sinned and fallen short of God's glory. But that doesn't mean God is going to ignore us. God has proven that time and again and He will continue to do so regardless of whether you are ridiculed by your enemies or a government tries to silence you.
I stand with Sarah Palin and many others who have invited God into their lives and I ask that if you haven't invited Him into your life, I encourage you to do so and He will continue to guide you so that you may see His greatest gift in Heaven : His only Son, Jesus Christ.
