I Don't Regret Supporting Sarah Palin

This morning when I was checking my email, I noticed that two people had replied to a comment I had posted the blog of Fox News Sunday host, Chris Wallace:

"Please tell Sarah that she has truly touched my life. I didn't get involved in politics until she came along. She literally woke me up about where the USA is heading in her convention speech and after Obama and his bureaucrats started doing their dirty work, I felt even more compelled to try and do something about it."

The first reply came from a person (whose screen name I won't reveal) suggested that I was mentally insane and should get professional help:

"Poor you, Katie. If your life and intellect is so empty that Failin' Palin is your inspiration, you have really got a problem. Please seek professional help!"

For the record, I am not mentally insane and I don't regret supporting Governor Palin. Before Senator McCain introduced Sarah, I didn't think much about politics. I pretty much relied on my intuition that something was wrong with Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and the Democrats. My only problem was that I didn't have any hard facts to support that intuition.

The facts that supported my intuition, however, fell into place when Sarah Palin spoke at the 2008 Republican National Convention. She woke me up to what the Democrats had in mind and what both the Democrats and Republicans were all about.

These facts followed me into Election Day when Barack Obama was elected President. Right then and there, I knew there was going to be trouble. I watched in horror what was happening to the country that I was born in, being raised in and will die in.

At first I was reluctant to stand up, but after Sarah spoke at Vanderburgh Right to Life, I could hear one of her quotes from that speech echoing over and over in my head: "Don't be afraid to speak up." Since then I have decided to take a stand and stand up for the country I so dearly love.

I encourage more people to do what I did. To quote Obi-wan Kenobi from the fourth episode of Star Wars, "Use your feelings." If you see something is truly wrong and you hear a voice telling you to stand up for what is right, trust that voice and, "Stand now. Stand together. Stand for what is right." (Sarah Palin)
